Sookmyung Women's University Moonshin Museum

Moon Shin Museum at Sookmyung Women's University is the fruit of joint efforts between Lee Kyung-Sook, former president of Sookmyung Women's University, and Choi SungSook, Director of Moon Shin Museum in Masan. The motto of the university, "Raising global leaders developed with personality and knowledge based on as solid understanding of multiculturalism" was closely in line with the determination of Director Choi to promote the spirit and artworks of world famous sculptor Moon Shin. Their collaborated artistic and cultural efforts resulted in the opening of Moon Shin Arts Institute at Sookmyung in 1999.

It required 5 years of preparatory procedures such as assortment and documentation of artworks for their preservation, installation, exhibition and development of art products before the institute opened the museum in 2004. The gallery is located on the second basement floor of Renaissance Plaza at Sookmyung University. The museum became the first registered museum run by a university in 2005.
